requires attunement by a character proficient with javelins

Mechanical effect

This magical javelin deals 1d6 + 2 piercing damage on a hit. You can throw it as an action. The javelin magically summons five spectral leaves as ammunition each day at dawn. When you make a ranged weapon attack with this javelin, you can expend one leaf to deal an extra 1d6 piercing damage. The javelin regains all five spectral leaves daily at dawn. If thrown, the javelin returns instantly to your hand after the attack.

Description

Crafted from the bark and sap of ancient treants, the Tree Giant's Glance appears as a slender javelin etched with delicate leaf patterns that shimmer faintly. When hurled, it leaves a fleeting trail of glowing green leaves that strike with the swiftness of a forest spirit. The weapon is favored by rangers and druids who seek the speed and precision of nature's wrath.

DM notes

The item fits Rare rarity due to its +2 flat damage bonus and limited-use extra damage per attack through expendable leaves. The returning javelin feature offers utility without breaking action economy. Five charges of extra damage per day provide strong but bounded power. Attunement limits sharing and stacking, keeping balance intact. The item is suited for characters who use thrown weapons and want a nature-themed magical boost.
